HANA SOUKUPOVA Biography At just 22 years old, HANA SOUKUPOVA has become one of the worlds most sought after and respected models, gracing fashions most prestigious runways, starring in major international ad campaigns and featured in magazines across the globe. Hana has emerged from her native Czech republic to become one of the most recognizable models of our day. When Hana was just 14 years old, she and her older sister Eva sent each others pictures into a modeling contest in Prague in the hopes that one of them would win the $100 prize and be able to buy Christmas presents for the family; Hana was chosen. She signed her first major modeling contract at 15 years of age as the face of Carolina Herreras Chic perfume and has now walked in over 500 runway shows, including the nationally televised 2006 and 2007 Victorias Secret Show and opening and closing shows for fashion icons including Alexander McQueen, Zac Posen, Gucci, Galliano, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino just to name a few. Hana has graced the pages of over 400 magazines and been featured on more than 50 covers. Hana has also starred in campaigns for Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Bulgari, Escada, Dior Cosmetics and is currently the face of Gucci Envy, one of Guccis most popular fragrances and their longest running perfume campaign in their history. She first graced the cover of Vogue in Japan in 2003 and has since appeared on the cover of the Italian, Brazilian, Latin American, China, Russian, German and American editions as well as American and Italian Vanity Fair. American Vogue chose her as one of the next top supermodels and she was featured on the cover of that September 2004 issue, which was their first non-celebrity September cover since 2001.Vanity Fair touted her as the next Eastern European model that will most likely make it big. Because of her statuesque height and elegantly long limbs, Hana is a favorite of renowned photographers Steven Meisel, Nick Knight, Mikael Jansson, Craig McDean, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Klein, Mario Testino, Inez Van Lamsweerde, Patrick Demarchelier and Vinoodh Matadin. Hana was born in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, where she returned in 2006 to host the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival along with Andy Garcia and Vaclav Klaus, the President of the country. She comes from a close-knit family: her mother is a nurse, her father is an engineer in a factory and her older sister is an artist who just recently sold her first important work in Germany. She, like her sister, is an artist working primarily with oil on canvas and also has a strong passion for photography. Hana grew up with an interesting and eclectic group of household pets so naturally she became a dedicated member of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
